Benefits of alpaca wool

Alpaca wool is one of the finest natural fibers. The premium quality baby alpaca is characterized by its exceptional softness – guaranteed scratch-free and ideal even for people with allergies, babies and sensitive skin types. Every fiber rests pleasantly light on the skin and gives garments a luxurious wearing comfort that is second to none.

Alpaca wool is considered one of the warmest types of wool in the world and is up to seven times warmer than classic sheep's wool. The unique hollow fiber stores warmth efficiently while providing a natural temperature balance. This keeps the body pleasantly warm without sweating – whether in fine knitwear or warming winter pieces.

Alpaca fibers can absorb and release up to 25% of their own weight in moisture. This ensures a pleasantly dry feel – even during movement. Thanks to their low weight, alpaca almost floats on the body and offers exceptional comfort that proves itself both in everyday life and during outdoor activities.

Alpaca wool contains hardly any lanolin – a substance that often causes allergic reactions. This makes it especially pleasant for sensitive skin. Its natural properties are antibacterial and reduce odor formation in a completely natural way. Many color variations are also created without chemical dyeing, which protects both the skin and the environment.

Alpaca fibers are resilient and retain their shape, structure and softness even after many years. Unlike cashmere, alpaca is hardly prone to pilling. High-quality pieces can be gently washed on a wool cycle – and still remain elegant and beautiful for a long time.

Alpacas are considered particularly environmentally friendly animals: their soft foot pads protect the ground, their grazing behavior protects the vegetation and their natural color palette allows garments to be made without chemical dyeing. Alpaca wool stands for durable, sustainable luxury – far removed from fast fashion.
