Ensinger Alpakas Now an Officially Recognized FÖJ Placement Site

We have great news: Ensinger Alpakas GmbH is now officially recognized as an FÖJ placement site. This means young people can complete their Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ) directly with us on the alpaca farm in Ensingen and gain valuable practical experience in environmental education, sustainable agriculture and animal husbandry.

What is an FÖJ?

The Voluntary Ecological Year is an educational and orientation year for young people interested in nature, the environment, sustainability and animals. An FÖJ offers the opportunity to gain practical insights into ecological professions, take on responsibility and develop personally.

Especially for school leavers who want to explore career options or make good use of the time before university or vocational training, an FÖJ is a valuable experience.

An FÖJ on the alpaca farm

At Ensinger Alpakas, volunteers can expect a varied daily routine with many different tasks. These include, among others:

• Care and looking after our alpacas
• Assisting with stable and pasture work
• Supporting alpaca hikes and events
• Insights into animal-assisted offerings
• Maintaining the farm grounds
• Helping with the processing and marketing of alpaca wool
• Supporting sustainable projects and environmental education

Our work combines animal husbandry, nature experiences and sustainable management. It's exactly this combination that we want to pass on to young people as part of the FÖJ.

Sustainability and environmental education at the center

Sustainability plays an important role on our farm. We want to show how responsible animal husbandry, regional products and a conscious approach to natural resources can be connected.

An FÖJ at Ensinger Alpakas therefore offers not only practical work with animals, but also many insights into ecological relationships and sustainable agriculture.

Gaining experience and taking on responsibility

It's important to us that participants are actively involved in daily farm life. They learn to take on responsibility, work independently and at the same time be part of a small, family-like team.

The direct contact with the animals, working in nature and the varied tasks make the FÖJ on our alpaca farm a special experience.
